JOB COUNSELING & DEVELOPMENT—Assistance with job placement, resume writing, and filing for unemployment benefits.
YOUTH JOB COUNSELING—Career counseling and training for young adults who are seeking employment and desiring to strengthen their job placement potential.
FINANCIAL COUNSELING—Workshops and training in financial decision-making, financial responsibility, and planning options for the future.
ADULT & FAMILY COUNSELING—We offer counseling services to individuals and families in difficult life circumstances. We also manage court-appointed community service as well as school community service requirements.
PARENT SUPPORT GROUP—A positive group setting for parents to discuss parenting techniques and challenges.
ALZHEIMER’S SUPPORT GROUP—A support group for family members of those with Alzheimer’s.
TRANSLATION SERVICES—Translation assistance for non-English speakers regarding documents such as birth certificates, marriage and divorce papers, baptism certificates, etc.
FORMS ASSISTANCE—We guide clients through the required steps of enrollment and participation in various government and other human assistance programs, including: Housing Update, Section 8, Low-Income Apartment Rental, Renters Credit Disability Insurance, IHSS Time Sheets, Income Taxes, MediCal, , Resume for EDD, State Disability, Unemployment, Welfare and Child Support.
TAX PREPARATION—Assistance and referrals for IRS documents during tax season.
IMMIGRATION SERVICES—We offer translation services and general guidance regarding immigration forms and procedures.
TRANSITIONAL HOUSING SERVICES—We have emergency services available to those in need of temporary housing.
FOOD DISTRIBUTION—In partnership with the San Diego Food Bank, we offer monthly food distributions to San Ysidro residents. Additionally, we administer weekly bread distributions, made possible through the generous donations of local businesses.
CHILDREN’S SNACK PROGRAM—In partnership with the County of San Diego, this program provides children with a nutritious afternoon snack, free of charge.
BRACERO PROGRAM—Casa Familiar is taking an active role in coordinating the repayment of funds from the Mexican government to the Bracero workers.
