Facilities & Maintenance Manager

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs all job assignments with a positive attitude that supports Casa Familiar’s mission and vision and understands that every Casa team member plays a role in community organizing and supporting organizing efforts.

The Facilities and Maintenance Manager is responsible for project management, oversight and light construction work across all Casa Familiar’s properties including renovations of facilities and the creation/execution of annual maintenances plans, and the direction of maintenance staff, vendors and contractors to support those plans, including: electrical, lighting, plumbing, mechanical, drainage, landscape, irriga4on, fire sprinkler, security alarms, security cameras, pest control, and environmental systems. This also includes supporting gallery exhibit needs such as mounting and demounting of special art exhibits, wall repair, painting and light electrical work.

This position reports to Casa Familiar’s Public Vitality Director, will supervise the Casa Familiar maintenance crew and work with Property Managers as needed for access to tenant spaces. Will also serve as point of contact for contractors and vendors related to facility maintenance, opera4on and renovations.

This position will perform unlicensed trade work on a regular basis in multiple trade areas including, carpentry, locksmithing, masonry, minor mechanical maintenance, minor plumbing, air filter changes, irrigation system maintenance, painting preparation and painting.

Travel Percentage Required 0% – 25% (MUST possess a valid CA Driver’s License.)

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in the construction industry is a must. A plus if candidates have coursework in civil engineering, structural engineering; experience in working with represented labor is desirable.

Must be bilingual (English/Spanish)

The employee is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell less than 1/3 of the time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to wet and humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock more than 2/3 of the time. The employee is exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, work in high, precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, high winds, and vibration 1/3 to 2/3 of the time. The noise level in the work environment is frequently high.

Annual starting salary range: $55,000 – $60,000 depending on experience. Includes paid vacation and a competitive benefits package.
